Belgium [ENA] Its time to relax, and enjoy the sunny weather! Here are just a few of several events coming up this summer in Belgium. On the occasion of the 450th anniversary of the death of Pieter Bruegel the Elder, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium celebrate the great Renaissance master.

You can explore Bruegel's masterpieces, his life, influences and legacy through 12 virtual exhibitions offered on interactive screens throughout the Old Masters Museum. Each one brings together paintings, texts, archival documents, as well as audio and video clips, so you can gain in-depth knowledge about Pieter Bruegel the Elder and experience the real-life artworks in a new way. These exhibitions, as well as 7 additional ones, can also be accessed on the Google Arts & Culture website.

The Bruegel Box lets you live inside Bruegel's work: three immersive videos - each dedicated to one painting - are projected on three walls, floor to ceiling. We invite you to get shoulder-to-shoulder with the villagers of Bruegel’s Proverbs (1559), face to face with the palm reader of the Sermon of Saint John the Baptist (1566) or have The Fall of the Rebel Angels (1562) at your fingertips.

On 5, 6, 7 and 8 September food and drink lovers have a date with eat! BRUSSELS, drink! BORDEAUX. The big names of Brussels’ fine-dining scene and Bordeaux Wines will welcome them in the lush setting of Brussels Park. This year, there will be so many new things for you to enjoy at the festival, with the second Brussels prawn-croquette competition, the mixology master class and new workshops from the Bordeaux Wine School. The eat! BRUSSELS, drink! BORDEAUX festival has brought in the best chefs in the capital to cook up a storm in pop-up kitchens set up in the heart of Brussels Park. Each will prepare their signature dish for visitors. This is a wonderful opportunity to discover the stars of Belgium’s fine-dining scene.

Over five consecutive Friday nights from 26 July to 23 August, the city’s sky will be filled with dazzling fireworks launched from the foot of Brussels Expo’s Hall 5, opposite the Atomium and next to Mini-Europe. To make it the highlight of the summer, various activities will be available, with the option to grab a relaxed bite to eat onsite. From 18:00, local families, Belgians and passing tourists will be able to take part in countless fun activities, enjoy various entertainment and choose from a range of food trucks. Dances, workshops, demonstrations, games, initiations... there will be something for everyone! On the occasion of 'Laeken Firework Spectacular', Mini-Europe and the Atomium are exceptionally open during the evening!
